This safari cake was a hit! It blended in perfectly with the decor of the party. The top tier was created to resemble grass, the middle tier resembled a giraffe and the last tier resembled a zebra of course. We created the tree out of sugar… it was the perfect final touch for the cake!
How was the branches of the cake done with? I am trying to do a tree for my niece with animals for her birthday. I am not very good in making cakes but I am willing to try. I’ll do a sample if it does not come out like a tree I will not make it. How many tiers did you make for the tree? Would you please help me. Thank you.
The branches were made out of gum-paste. You can go to your local arts and crafts store and in the baking section you will see the “gum-paste.” Then take brown food coloring (that you should also see in that section) and just blend the color into the gum-paste until you get the color you like. After that, you just mold it
