I’m Hooked on You!
This “Mahi-Mahi” was a Grooms Cake. The note on the Grooms Cake says “I’m hooked on you” requested by the then Bride to be, Amy. The inside was vanilla cake with vanilla butter-cream filling. This cake was covered with fondant and we created the fins out of gum-paste. We put a lot of attention to the colors on this cake so that it would resemble what a real “Mahi-Mahi” would look like.
Very cool specialty cake, it seems that grooms cakes are becoming more and more popular. I like the “hooked on you” concept using the fish. I think this idea would also be interesting using an actual hook.
